Employer
Overview
The Change of Employer Employment Permit process allows eligible General Employment Permit and Critical Skills Employment Permit holders to move to a new employer without applying for an entirely new permit. Approval is required before the new employment begins, and the proposed role must remain within the occupation scope permitted for the existing permit.
Eligibility
- Available after 9 months with the initial employer.
- The employee must hold valid IRP / Stamp 1 permission.
- The new role must meet employment permit eligibility criteria.
- Current salary thresholds apply.
Key Compliance Points
- The employee must remain compliant with permit conditions at the time of application.
- Employment with the new employer cannot begin before approval.
- Not available for Reactivation Employment Permit holders.
- A maximum of 3 employer changes may apply under current legislation.
