An Employment Permit Renewal allows eligible holders to extend an existing General Employment Permit or Reactivation Employment Permit while continuing in qualifying employment. The employer, employee, occupation, remuneration and employment conditions must satisfy the requirements applying when the renewal application is assessed.
This service concerns renewal of the employment permit issued by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. It does not renew the holder’s immigration permission or Irish Residence Permit, which is a separate process administered by Immigration Service Delivery.
Applicants who want to renew an Irish work permit should begin preparing before the existing permit expires.
The application should be prepared before the existing permit expires and must demonstrate continued compliance with the relevant permit conditions.
