Brazil allows online marriages through the e-Notariado system, which authorises electronic notarial acts and video conferencing for marital consent. A Brazilian citizen, or anyone with a CPF, can legally marry from abroad. An online wedding in Brazil allows an eligible couple to complete a Brazilian civil-marriage ceremony by live videoconference without necessarily travelling to Brazil.
The couple must first complete the marriage-eligibility process through the participating Brazilian Civil Registry Office. The registry examines the parties’ identity, civil status, documents and legal capacity to marry.
Once eligibility has been approved, a remote ceremony may be requested. The videoconference format remains subject to acceptance by the Civil Registry Office and the judge of peace responsible for the ceremony.
MWeds assesses the couple’s circumstances, provides tailored document instructions, coordinates the application with the participating registry and assists with the remote ceremony and subsequent marriage-certificate requirements.

Some countries, including Denmark, do not recognise a wedding where the couple is not physically present to sign the marriage document. You should verify whether marriage by video is accepted under the specific legislation in your country of residence.
