EUTR1A Application for Permitted Family MembersAn EUTR1A application allows an eligible non-EEA family member to ask Immigration Service Delivery to treat them as a permitted family member of an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen living in Ireland. This route commonly covers de facto partners, but it can also apply to certain dependent household members and relatives requiring personal care.
Both family members must be living in Ireland. The EU, EEA or Swiss citizen must also be exercising qualifying free-movement rights through employment, self-employment or financial self-sufficiency.
Permitted-family-member status and any temporary immigration permission are not automatic. Immigration Service Delivery assesses the relationship, dependency or personal-care circumstances and the supporting evidence in each case.
MWeds assesses eligibility, provides tailored document instructions, reviews the evidence and assists with submitting the EUTR1A application through the ISD Customer Portal.
Spouses, civil partners and other qualifying family members should review the separate EUTR1 application service.
Appeals are not included and require separate payment when necessary.
